IB Mathematics - Yr 5 - Week 13

Objectives

Look at the assessment criteria for maths coursework and think about possible ideas for projects

Activities

Example coursework - are brunettes cleverer than blonds?
Clear statement of task
Data gathering - iq test, look at class scores, what is intelligence?
Maths processes - mean, standard deviation, correlation, chi squared test
Conclusion - what conclusions can we draw from the data?
Validity - how definitive can a study like this be? how big was your data set?
Structure - tables labelled, page numbers, etc
